These
are some selected lyrics that i have written o're the years; some recent, some not so. Some of these have been recorded some of them not, some of them will never have been recorded too, when it is all said and done.

So, here we go
'songstress'

sorrow 'neath the hoof of a horse
trample down sapling's source
wind whistlin' through a skull's sockets
tobacco crumbs in an old pockets
cricket shrill echoes in a head
a murder occurs where spring is fed

all the while i think of ye, all the while, all the while

el faro on the cliff near my 'stead
feign the barrio red
all fall asleep at the wheel
is it the kill or the keel?
relentless waves rushing rockets
a cross where once lost lover's lockets

all the while i think of ye, all the while, all the while

no snowflake falls upon no leaf
a widow feigns her love of grief.
and frost bites the hand that feeds the foe
and blood flows towards open vein, you know. . . .

all the while i think of ye, all the while, all the while. . . . .

'you don't know what pleasure is'

you dont know what pleasure is
you may think you do. . . .

you dont know what pleasure is
of course you just might know its business
a love that councils bright and pure
a love that leads, a love that lures

you don't know what pleasure is
you may think you do

you dont know what meaning means
it brings you roses, its praise you sing
pleasure's not what hides in there
it's an everlasting love of air

you dont know what pleasure is
you may think you do but you dont

you dont know where the lover flings
the dead flowers and the gold ring
when your wine's gojne vinegar
and your meal's gone cold
cutworms a plenty worm through ye folds

you dont know what pleasure is
you may think you do but you dont

'about (giving) face'

there's you, rummaging around and through
'tween being a loss or a found
there's me, profoundly risky
just for being caught dead in this town
there's her, a loligaging blur
o so sticky from, a royal crown
us never anticipated such the fuss
then the world ain't exactly round.

she want ye to want she
me want she to want ye

'so urge thyself toward righteous life'

i built a fire so high
my palms been pricked, hay cacti
and wilt in shaddow of San Pablo
i'm scratched, i'm sniffed
i'm torn by thorn
every morning 'round six
day born

but right now there be the moon
who right now cautions the fool
to let not love drool,
not let, not rule

many legs, they're tremblin' things
for letting it all hang out
over scorpion stings
so urge myself toward righteous life
my my right, selfish might

now there are some who also like it hot
but i've been scalded by scorn
i bake like the clay of San Roque
i'm scratched up, i'm sniffed out
i'm torn down by thorn
soon i'll be taller than the corn

but right now there be the moon
who right now cautions the fool
to let not love drool,
not let, not rule

many legs, they're tremblin' things
for letting it all hang out
over scorpion stings
so urge myself toward righteous life
my my right, selfish might

'moonset'

everythings gone quiet
now the stars are out to play
and the hangnail moon,
sliply quicks away
you are in my thoughts, dear,
as i hum a lullaby
i'd try to lure you near here,
i know i'm wrong to try. . . .
and i hate to see the lil' moon go down
it only serves to render dark this town
where only villians love a town that's bound
and determined to undermind your gown.
several snakes are hissing
around me as i pray
that dear lord baby jesus
bequeath me some sunray
i know my days are numbered
jesus too knew he would die
so lean not into your own dear
understanding underlie
and i hate to see the lil' moon go down
it only serves to render dark this town
where only villians love a town that's bound
and determined to undermind your gown
the left hand strikes the right one
as i come upon the hay
so sound the horn o' plenty
so sink back into clay
i wish are sides were touching
just like sea touches like sky
but alone i'll go out a rowing
your love was a loose lie
now i love to see the morning sun come up
it serves me best, it overfills my cup
and only villians love a town that's down
and never likely to wake up

'dust'

dust

there is dust for a thousand miles
you knew this, guey, before you came
this is just one of many trials
ladden with what makes blame
you're a journeyed clock-wise man
only scared of what's sitting still
but questioning can't comfort the damned
your hell they ne'er overfilled

dust

dust settles down, you snake around
crawlin' on your poo si side
you never wished to be lost or found
only considered gone for a ride
but you drank the sand right off the bottom
you yanked the dust from the breeze
and now you've lost your little sheep
so count yourself and go to sleep

dust

ridding away through thin nothingness
you hang sad like a dead tree
soon night will come, you'll rest of course
this is rekoned a blessing
or at least something to have been aquainted with
a circanium irregularity
but now memory has rekindled only myth
bones burn away in dusty seas
bones burn away in dusty seas
burns bone away in dusty seas

'tie yon tongue & grit yon teeth'

are you lookin at me out of pity
or is it just a matter of grief
its unlikely whichever belief
i'll beg from ye narry a dime

i won't be long in your city
so tie ye tongue and grit ye teeth
i've got something, much more than a belief
something dragged across the guts of time

so try your best not to love me
forgive me lord, if you think me weak
preserve the meek, preserve their reek
but you gotta try your best not to love me

cross my heart i'm gone tomorrow
i'm leaving this piss stink of a town
so save your kisses for someother toothless clown
and save your prayers for someother sucker's sorrow

so are you lookin at me outta pity?
or is it just a matter of grief?
it's unlikely whichever belief.
i'll take from you not a dime

'it's only a train baw'

it's only a train, baw
don't be afraid of a train

and so where you're going
you'll likely find a pot o' gold
amor's eyes are shinnin bright for ye
it's unlikely that they'll dim
so good that you've gotten up so early
now be quick gatherin'
the deaf and bline have smelt the coals a burnin'
so dry your good eye and yearn. . . .

it's only a train, baw
don't be afraid of a train
the damn ol' world keeps right on turnin.

and so where you're goin they got ol' wishin wells
that overflow with booze
let precious light be witchee, ne'er darkness
O let thy soul be stained by the blood of the lamb
careful not to dry up or blow away.
and always eat your greens
cause the lady waits for cripple's lips to kiss her
so kiss her for me if you can

it's only a train baw
don't be afraid of a train
this damn ol world keeps right on burnin.

'we can take our medicine together?'

i found a weak link in the chain of your love
yes hospital beds excite me
although i'm not ill i swalllow all of my pills
and reuhpolster nightmares
and i fell face first into thee, ashtray
like a nightingale made of iron
i found a weak link in the chain of your love
your smile asked me from above. . . .

can we take our medicine together?
yes we can, my love

i fell down from a dream of you,
i think i broke my elbow
that's ok, it took my breath away
like the first time i saw you.
your cough was so cool, you blew a frost on this fool.
the truth will light the way
you see i found this weak link in the chain of your love
a stink link rusted through.

can we take our medicine together?
yes we can, my love

although i'm old i am made of gold
and this must still be worth something
may i ask who could love you more. . . .
a doctor or a noose?
i found a weak link in the chain of your love
yes, hospital beds excite me
although i'm not ill, i swallow all of my pills
and your kisses lash like razors.

can we take our medicine together?
yes we can, my love
